Employment Background: Equipment Services Manager for the City of Greensboro since June, 1989. During this period of time, Gary has worked in the capacity of Parts (1989-1994), Analyst (1994-1999), Assistant Manager (1997-1999), and Manager (2000).
Management responsibility for all services and activities of the Equipment Services Division. Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems and internal reporting relationships; and look for opportunities for improvement.
Active member of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors (2005). Also an active member of the National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA). Serve on the Triad Air Quality Early Action Compact (EAC) which was an option offered by the EPA to defer a region's designation as a non-attainment area.
Recent accomplishments include the US Department of Energy Clean Cities National Partner Award in May, 2004 for excellence in advancing biodiesel.
Educational Background: Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance/Business Administration from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Completed the Certified City of Greensboro Management Program and the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) Certified Equipment Manager Program in May,2000.
Hobbies/Special Interests: Gary enjoys coaching youth baseball, NASCAR racing and spending time with his wife and two children.
