Larry Campbell

Employment Background: Larry has been the City of Fort Wayne Fleet Manager/Director for eleven years and oversees the maintenance operations. This includes all fleet purchases from sedans, pickups, hybrids, large dump trucks and construction equipment, along with specialty vehicles – from purchase to disposal/auction. He works with all departments and divisions and oversees upfitting and equipping vehicles for duty.
While with the City, Larry has been involved with Clean Cities, moving the Fort Wayne fleet to one of the top green fleets in the country. Along with being one of the 100 best fleets, City of Fort Wayne has been named number one fleet to elite fleet. Larry was Government Fleet Manager of the year in 2012 and was just inducted to the Government Fleet Manager Hall of Fame (June 4, 2014).
Before joining City of Fort Worth, Larry was with Allen County Highway for 12 years as a Fleet Manager, overseeing three maintenance facilities and the mechanics. Along with being the project manager for two new maintenance facilities, he purchased equipment trucks for the highway. Larry was also involved with the Sheriff’s Department maintenance and lighting.
Educational Background: High school – some college – Larry took different courses ranging from hydraulics and electrical repairs, gas engines and computers. Larry has a lot of different certifications but the one he is most proud of is the APWA Certified Public Fleet Professional.
Hobbies/Special Interests: Larry enjoys biking and walking with his wife and dog. He runs in local 5ks and enjoys small landscaping projects.
