Commissioned a New Mexico State Police Patrolman June 1, 1984 and worked patrol for 4 and half years
in Cuba, New Mexico. Transferred to Santa Fe, reassigned as an Agent in the Governors Security Section for two years.
Returned to patrol in the Santa Fe district for two years in 1990. Became certified to teach pursuit driving in 1990
as adjunct staff to the academy. In 1992, full time training officer at the State Police academy. 1993 promoted to
Sergeant and transferred to Gallup uniform District for 3 years. Assigned as the lead instructor for pursuit driving,
keeping adjunct status. October 1995 promoted to Lieutenant, transferred back to Santa Fe and assigned to Internal Affairs.
February 1996 assigned as Fleet Manger at headquarters. Promoted to Captain March 2000, maintaining fleet responsibilities
and now assisting with the specialty teams and units in the Special Operations Bureau. Responsible for Aircraft, Canine,
Bomb Team, TACT Team, Honor Guard, Communications, Search and Rescue and the Motorcycle patrol unit. January 2004 promoted
to the rank of Major and appointed as Commander of the Special Operations Bureau.
Attended the University of New Mexico for two years. Graduate of the New Mexico State Police
Academy, with over 400 hours of advanced training from the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy. Graduate of the
Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
Randy loves to ride and work on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He and his wife
Cheri are avid N.A.S.C.A.R. fans. Brandon, his 19-year-old son is in the percussion section for the University
of New Mexico Marching Band. They spend a considerable amount of their free time following and supporting his adventures in music.
