Employment Background: Scott has been employed by the Charleston Police Department since 1998, serving as an aviation unit pilot, airplane and helicopter, and as fleet manager. He became the Director of Police and City Fleet Management in 2005, taking responsibility for the entire city fleet. In this capacity, he is responsible for all aspects of fleet management from the bidding process to the sale of surplus vehicles. His department has in-house maintenance as well as ongoing driver training. Prior to joining the police department, he was Director of Operations for an FAA Part 135 helicopter operator, also serving as line pilot. Prior to joining the helicopter service, Scott was Product Requirements Analyst for a major aerospace contractor.
Educational Background: Scott attended the College of Charleston. Additionally, he attended the Bell Helicopter Training Academy for initial turbine transition training, as well as refresher training.
Hobbies/Special Interests: Scott owns and drives a late model race car. He enjoys any aspect of high performance driving and driver training. He also enjoys riding dirt bikes.
