Key Standard and Optional Features
3.5L 24-valve DOHC Ti-VCT V6 Engine
The standard 288-horsepower 3.5L V6 features advanced technology to deliver the performance you expect as well as an EPA-estimated rating of 29 highway mpg.* Twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) controls when the valves open and close to enhance overall performance. Ti-VCT also enables variable valve overlap for improved fuel economy.
- *EPA-estimated rating of 19 city/29 hwy/23 combined mpg, FWD. Actual mileage will vary.
Rear View Camera
When you shift into Reverse, the available rear view camera displays an image of what’s behind you on the center console screen with available SYNC® with MyFord Touch® center console screen.
- *Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s judgment.
Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control
Torque Vectoring Control and Curve Control,* standard on all Taurus models, are two innovative enhancements to AdvanceTrac® with electronic stability control (ESC). Torque Vectoring Control uses the braking system to imitate the effect of a torque vectoring differential. In particular, when accelerating through corners, it applies braking to the front inside wheel, so more of the engine torque goes to the outside wheel, which has more grip. Curve Control will slow your vehicle when it senses that you’re going too fast into a particular curve. Employing throttle reduction and four-wheel braking intervention, it’s always active in helping you maintain control.
- *Remember that even advanced technology cannot overcome the laws of physics. It’s always possible to lose control of a vehicle due to inappropriate driver input for the conditions.
60/40 split fold down rear seats
Taurus provides you with ample, versatile trunk room. For example, the 60/40 split-fold spring-assisted rear bench seat folds down to accommodate longer items passed through the trunk. Standard on all models.
- Dune interior shown not available on the SHO.
