Power and Handling
Your choice of drive mode, engine and suspension depends so much on how you use your vehicle and how you drive that you are the only one who can really choose them. But the choices are getting easier. Ford engines, for example, continue to narrow the gap between power and fuel efficiency. Technology has done some of the thinking for you.
Configuring the interior you want is important because that's where you'll be spending your time, on long trips or errands. Decide the kind of seating, creature comforts and "extras" you'd like. Find the model that best suits your preferences. And don't forget to check the packages for possible savings.
The way the exterior of your vehicle is trimmed is an expression of your taste and your lifestyle. This has to do with color, décor themes - with everything. Imagine yourself in a vehicle driving alongside yours. What would you think? Would you like it? Would you change anything? Now's the time.
Safety is such an important issue more than the basic occupant protection features are built into every Ford vehicle that rolls of the line. Some advanced supplementary devices are available, but essentially, we have selected your safety features for you.
A group of options, usually related in function (i.e. a group of exterior trim items) are often offered as a "package," saving you money compared with buying the items individually. An "Equipment Group" vehicle is like an option package on a larger scale. Equipment Groups are based on the most popular combination of features for a particular model. The number of buildable combinations is significantly reduced, and so is the cost - another way to save you money.
Key Standard and Optional Features
2.0L Hybrid Electric Powertrain
Both C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi have an advanced powertrain which includes a 2.0L I-4 Atkinson-cycle gasoline engine with an electric motor to generate 188 total system horsepower, delivering the responsive power you want when you need it.
Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS)
This sophisticated steering system assists the steering effort to help you maintain a straighter path and helps manage unwanted drifting and pulls. The system continually adapts to steering conditions, offering light responsive steering at low speeds. At higher speeds, it delivers less steering assist for confident driver control. Next-generation SmartGauge® with EcoGuide
The dual-LCD next-generation SmartGauge® with EcoGuide is an innovative cluster that provides real-time information to help you get the most efficiency from your C-MAX Hybrid or C-MAX Energi. The next- gen SmartGauge with EcoGuide features a “MyView” screen so drivers can customize the screens to their liking. Efficiency Coach screens such as Brake Coach help you maximize your vehicle’s efficiency. Screens include Inform, Enlighten, Engage or Empower, and explain your options within each. Five-way steering wheel-mounted controls make it all easy. The gauge can indicate instant fuel economy, fuel economy history, odometer, engine coolant temperature, plus trip data including fuel economy, time-elapsed fuel economy and miles to empty. Watch the display grow leaves when you drive efficiently. Or watch them fade when you don’t. This green motivator works in any of the four display modes. You may also access your MyFord Touch® screens using the next-generation SmartGauge.
