Employment Background: In 1994, Andrew joined the City of Miami Beach – GSA and shortly thereafter was appointed to his current position as Director of Fleet Management in 1995. The City of Miami Beach Fleet Management Division is a full service organization and serves as the sole provider for preparing vehicle and equipment specifications, purchasing, training, maintaining and replacing of all rolling stock. While their fleet is very diverse, one of their primary customers is the Police Department which has 381 sworn police officers with a take-home vehicle program. Prior to the City of Miami Beach, he was with Florida Power and Light, a public utility company, for 26 years. For the last 8 years with Florida Power and Light, Andrew was in Facility Management overseeing facilities across two counties. Also while working for Florida Power and Light, he was actively involved in preparing the company to compete for the Deming Award which they were ultimately awarded. He is currently a member of National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) and the Association of Public Safety Communications (APCO International). Andrew is also a State Licensed General Contractor.
Educational Background: Andrew attended Broward Community College studying Criminal Justice and Florida International University studying Public Administration and holds many certificates relating to various management courses.
Hobbies/Special Interests: Andrew has a daughter in High School and they spend many hours supporting school activities, the PTSA, and the Educational Excellence School Advisory Council. When not there, he likes to travel and spend time with family and friends.
