Antonio (Tony) Gonzalez

Employment Background: Tony started with Fleet Operations as Fleet Sergeant in October, 2008. He spent approximately 2 years in that role then was promoted to Lieutenant in December, 2010. He is currently the Fleet Manager for the Department of Public Safety which includes, State Police , Motor Transportation Division (Commercial Trucks), Special Investigation Division, Law Enforcement Academy and Crime Labs. He is responsible for the purchase of vehicles and emergency equipment. Tony also oversees the upfitting of their vehicles in their shop. He works with the outside vendors to assist them with additional upfitting. Tony is responsible for the maintenance of their fleet statewide, which includes 7 department shops located within the state. In addition to their shops, he coordinates with outside vendors for their maintenance service needs. Tony also oversees their Fleet Sergeant who is responsible for the collision repair of their vehicles. They coordinate with insurance companies and body shops for the repair of the vehicles. When recruits are attending the academy, Tony assists as a part-time EVOC instructor. He has been involved with the EVOC training program since 2005.
Educational Background: Two years of college, EMT certified, Police Academy, Bomb Technician and Police Instructor.
Hobbies/Special Interests: Tony is a Ford Mustang fanatic. He currently owns two Mustangs – a 2010 GT…the “family car” and a 1988 GT T-Top…the toy. He has owned a total of 12 Mustangs. He likes to attend car shows and work on cars with his son.
