Employment Background: A respected member of the law enforcement community and a graduate of the FBI Academy, Dan has long standing relationships with law enforcement executives in California, the U.S. and abroad. He is an active member of professional law enforcement organizations, including the IACPO, California Police Chiefs Association, FBINAA, PORAC and others. Dan has 30 years of experience in nationally accredited California police departments, serving for the past 12 years at the executive level.

Dan began his law enforcement career in 1983 as a patrol officer in South San Francisco. He later transferred to the West Sacramento Police Department where he supervised the Traffic Division, Street Crimes Unit, Youth Services, Detectives, SWAT and Patrol Operations, promoting through the ranks to become West Sacramento’s Interim Police Chief.

Dan transferred to the Rocklin, CA Police Department in 2004 and retired in 2013 as Deputy Chief of Police. In February 2013, he was sworn in as interim Police Chief in Lincoln, CA and is now the interim Director of Security and Police Services for the Sierra Joint Community College District.

Dan has served as a commissioner on the Yolo County Juvenile Justice Commission and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center. Along with his current seat on the Ford Police Advisory Board, Dan is Chairman of the Sierra College Administration of Justice Advisory Board, also serving as adjunct professor for the college.
Educational Background: Dan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Hobbies/Special Interests: Dan is a licensed private pilot. He enjoys high-tech gadgets and spending time with his wife and daughter.
