Key Standard and Optional Features
Engine - 6.2L SOHC 2-valve flex fuel V8 engine
The E85-capable 6.2L gas V8 features a single overhead camshaft design and dual-equal variable cam timing - advanced features that help optimize power throughout the speed range as well as fuel efficiency. Large, heavy-duty pistons, intake and exhaust valves and a large engine bore diameter also help deliver outstanding horsepower and torque for effortless on-the-job performance* - plus the fuel efficiency you need to grow your bottom line. For power conversion to compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquid propane gas (LPG), Ford offers the flexibility of the CNG/LPG Gaseous Engine Prep Package, available on the F-350 Chassis Cab with the 6.2L V8.** The 6.2L with the CNG/LPG package can be upgraded with aftermarket upfits to bi-fuel capability, enabling it to run on either compressed natural gas, liquid propane gas, or unleaded gasoline.
TorqShift® 6-speed SelectShift™ Automatic Transmission
The Ford TorqShift® 6-Speed SelectShift® automatic transmission sets the industry standard for performance and dependability. It has big, strong gears that take on extra torque, meaning you use fewer rpm because the torque converter locks up at lower speeds. You can rev this transmission hard and push it to the extremes with confidence. The SelectShift feature of the 6-speed TorqShift automatic has two driver-initiated modes. In Progressive Range Select, you can limit the range of gears to lock out overdrive for consistent speed over hills and mountain ranges. In Full Manual mode, you can go all the way up and all the way down the gearbox to put you fully in control.
Airbags — Safety Canopy® System with roll-fold side-curtain airbags
In addition to the driver and passenger front airbags, Super Duty® Chassis Cab provides front side-impact airbags and the Safety Canopy® System with its state-of-the-art roll-fold technology. Six airbags are standard on every Super Duty model.*
Live Drive Power Takeoff (PTO) (diesel engine only)
When your truck is in the shop getting upfitted for changes in seasonal work, you're left idling, standing still. That’s why the Super Duty® Chassis Cab offers the available class-exclusive live-drive power takeoff (PTO) provision* integrated into the transmission's design. This makes upfitting your truck at the shop a lot faster. The live-drive power takeoff utilizes an output gear linked directly to the engine crankshaft to power upfits anytime the engine is running, whether you're in motion or at a stop, and lets you use applications like salt spreaders, tree-trimming equipment and more. And with the split-shaft capability, multiple accessories can be operated at the same time with the vehicle stopped.
